Taylor Swift called it right when she sang, “August slipped away into a moment in time,” because it was such an eventful month for digital rights in India that it really went by in a blur. From us breaking down the state of digital rights in India at the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to the state of digital rights truly breaking down with the withdrawal of the Data Protection Bill, 2021—we were battling to save our rights on all fronts this month. And all of that culminated with us meeting some of you at #PrivacySupreme in Bengaluru, where we reflected not only on the stream of digital rights-changing events last month, but the general future of tech, policy, and privacy in India
