Call for tech volunteers!

Hey folks!

IFF is working with Data Kind Bangalore for an exciting and important project. Last year we discovered a series of Facial Recognition Technologies (FRTs) being deployed all over the country. Subsequently, we filed multiple Right To Information requests to get details on each of these projects. However, we needed to find a way to raise public awareness around these projects and also find out about the other projects being deployed that we may not know about.

This is why we’re building a Facial Recognition Tracker as part of Project Panoptic to map the deployment of these FRT projects across India. In order to build this tracker, we’re collaborating with Data Kind Bangalore. We are writing to you today to seek your help in building this tracker as tech volunteers. You can check out this form to apply.

If you have some time on your hands and would like to help us out- Apply, Apply, Apply! Details on the skill sets we are looking for, the time commitments required etc. are in the form. If you have any additional questions for us, write to us at [email protected] and we’ll get back to you ASAP!

In case you don’t have time to apply, reach out to your friends who might be interested in something like this. We’re excited to work with you on this one
