This is my first post on this forum and I am super excited to share with you all this graphic narrative that’s come out of my collaboration with the IFF on issues around facial recognition technology.
It’s a visual reinterpretation of the famous poem by Tagore, “Where the mind is without fear…”. Through a rather paradoxical juxtaposition, I hope to stir up a conversation around what we mean by progress. Mere acquisition of technology without understanding nuances of what makes us a society does not seem to be a true mark of development. I hope this piece helps to raise relevant questions.
Priyanka! Thank you so much for giving a visual language to the harms visited by facial recognition technologies. The entire staff and community has positively received your work. @Anushka do check this out and do provide feedback given your continuing work on project panoptic!
Thank you, @aparatbar. I am really glad to hear that it’s been received well. It’s a great initiative by IFF to bring artistic interpretations as part of the discourse on tech policy.
