On August 18, 2023, the Rajya Sabha Chairperson in consultation with the Speaker of Lok Sabha referred the 3 new criminal law bills as introduced in the Lok Sabha to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs for examination and report within :three: months.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs has scheduled meetings for the presentation of the bills by the Home Secretary to the Members of the Standing Committee from August 24 to August 26, 2023.
