The BNS, 2023 seeks to replace the Indian Penal Code, 1860 to streamline provisions relating to offences and penalties.
The BNSS, 2023 seeks to replace the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. It provides for the use of technology & forensic sciences in the investigation of crime & furnishing and lodging of information, service of summons, etc., through electronic communication.
The BSB, 2023 seeks to replace the Evidence Act, 1872. As per the Minister, The Evidence Act, 1872 does not address the technological advancement undergone in the country during the last few decades.
