“TikTok was a canteen; Instagram is a café. But the canteen has better food, and the café serves costly coffee that not everyone drinks.”
Instagram has largely replaced TikTok in India, and erased working-class creators - Rest of World - Argues how TikTok offered an opportunity to content-creators belonging to economically downtrodden and marginalised communities.
Pretty interesting read!
This was a really interesting read, and the aesthetics bit is quite true.
I read a fascinating conspiracy theory last year, which was way more elaborate and far better articulated than this, but here’s the summary:
“Zuckerberg had TikTok banned in India, so that Instagram could launch Reels”
ha ha well said. It is quite true that there’s a different test in between the TikTok and instagram. But the major difference from the point of view of a common person is that in this two fascinated world people think that their life is in a humiliation stage, and in order to achieve that kind of fascinated life they need to upgrade themselves with the trend.
With today’s technology, the same apps are all based on the big apps, if tiktok is banned in india they can also make a similar app to satisfy the users in their country.
Well that was obvious. Titkok is more like a cheap thrill. Though Insta is not far behind. But Tiktok is something that a lot of people really use. This Tiktok growth agency explains it further why tiktok will become one of the biggest social media platform in the coming years. They might bother using the Instagram but Tiktok is very simple and easy to use and there’s nothing besides a simple account to access it. It doesn’t have any complications.
